Preserve Greystone Petition
Preserve Greystone has started an online petition calling for the preservation of the Greystone Kirkbride building in New Jersey. Please sign the petition to show your support for saving this historical and monumental building.
I know online petitions aren’t as effective as contacting New Jersey’s Governor and Treasurer directly by writing letters or through some other medium—please do that too—but signing the petition will still help build support for the building and it will only take a minute of your time.
Thank you.
This old building should be made into a museum about the history of mental health. It has greater value as a gem of educational worth than some cheesy, overpriced, yuppy-land condo, which are a dime a dozen. History will judge us on how well we guard our monuments. The patients who lived, suffered, passed through or passed on there deserve our respect. Please do not desecrate their memories by wontonly destroying this building!!
Please do not destroy Greystone. Buildings like these will never be built again. Preserve them.
Keep up the good work.
I think it is horrendous how the government of New Jersey wants to tear down a building with so much history. Take the money that you’re going to use to demolish it and make it a museum! Think of how much more money they would make instead of tearing it down. I also agree with Susan. It is a waste to build foofy condos on such a valuable piece of land that can be used for educational purposes.
